Gold on its way into the last day of the week apparently discovered some wind at its back trading at 1799.10.
This could be the start of something really small. We’re long gold. And these big moves get us excited.
The Dow up 146, the Nasdaq 134 and the S&P 500 22.50. WTI fractionally higher at 87.09, Brent 89.79. The Russell 2000 holding on to positive territory 1932.30. Even the forlorn Nikkei took to the airways trading at 26,735 up 543.
The VIX swooned a bit to 27.95 at after lurching across 30 a couple of times in a few sessions. Silver and platinum also up with copper undecided.
Much of the market continues to get it head around the Powell Powwow Wednesday. You’ll get more opinions than one would encounter at a summer Texas chili cook off contest.
Some of that chili gets hot. Real hot. India recently imported a decade high amount of gold as jewelry demand doubles.
Fast forward. You don’t need a date. We could say we told you so. But we won’t.
